SMA Awareness Month is a time for the entire SMA community to come together and raise awareness to improve outcomes for patients across Canada. Through this recognition, the community has helped to make a profound difference for SMA patients and their families.
This August we want to highlight the instrumental work patient organizations are doing to bring vital advances and invaluable support to SMA families. SMA patients from across the country, across all ages and SMA types, count on the tremendous support these organizations provide.
Despite the significant advances made in recent years, we recognize there are still unmet treatment needs and opportunities for people with SMA. Biogen Canada is determined to further improve care for patients, and we will continue to work in partnership to achieve this goal.
We are proud that we have been able to fundamentally change the course of SMA treatment across a broad range of patients and redefine what it means to live with this progressive and potentially life-threatening disease.
Biogen remains deeply committed to maintain the momentum and through ongoing investment and research, add to the largest and longest clinical data set in SMA. We continue to focus on exploring new and expanded treatment options through new and ongoing clinical trials to deliver even better clinical outcomes for patients.
