TO PATIENTS, HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS, PARTNERS, AND OUR COMMUNITY
As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak evolves in Canada and around the world, the health and safety of all those who are impacted in any way is our utmost concern. Our thoughts are with those who are in isolation and doing everything possible to limit the spread of COVID-19. We are grateful to the public health authorities who have been working since the very beginning to tackle the unprecedented challenge posed by this outbreak and are thankful for the courage and compassion of all healthcare workers who are on the frontlines.
Our priority is the health and wellbeing of our community, the patients who count on us, the healthcare professionals and stakeholders we work with and our employees. We are acting responsibly with an abundance of caution to protect each other and those around us and have taken several actions, including:
- Asking Canadian employees to follow their local health authorities guidance and support their community in reducing the risk of progression of the virus.
- Mandating all employees to work virtually from home until further notice.
- Imposing a domestic and international business travel ban for all employees until further notice.
- Monitoring of our supply chain and operations to assure we can continue to produce important medicines for our patient communities here and around the world.
This is a dynamic situation and we are focused on helping our communities and our employees through this difficult time. We have established and are consulting regularly with a panel of infectious disease experts to help us better understand COVID-19 and will continue to be vigilant and help wherever we can.
In addition, Biogen Foundation committed $10 million dollars to support COVID-19 relief efforts around the world to support the global response and the immediate needs of communities hardest hit by COVID-19.
In the meantime, we continue to operate our business to serve the needs of our patients and advance our mission of being pioneers in neuroscience.
